“Leadership cannot really be taught. It can only be learned.”
~ Harold Geneen
In a circumstance where businesses are pushing through tougher economic times, the focus of how we lead out people and the ability to leverage them so that there strengths are being utilized strategically is becoming more and more important. If you look at the headlines in many top business magazines and online network sites; companies are seeing how shifting their priorities from pushing sales and bottom-line driven action plans are quickly moving towards people focused training and development programs. They are now seeing how investing more time and money at the beginning will ensure they gain accelerated financial results in the end; the results will also create a sustainable culture for the business where their people are happy, developed, and encouraged to act as entrepreneurs each day. Not only will business leaders experience the satisfaction of producing long-term succession plan for their business, but they will in-tern notice quantifiable results with the returning loyal customers. You might wonder why creating a people-focused culture is so important? Some questions you might ponder are: “do I really get my return on investment in-terms of spending more on development tools, strategic planning and goal setting?” and you might be perplexed as to why leaders are spending more time and money focusing on their staffs’ development?
The answer is simple…business success relies on it’s people! If you want your business to be profitable, you need to invest time and money in the beginning in order to see the return in the end. I often compare this process to building a house; you would never build the frame and sell the house before setting a flawless foundation for the house to be built on. My goal is to bring awareness, tools, strategy and passion to anyone needing these skills. My long-term goal is to change how people see their people; they are in-valuable expenses to their profitable business!
